Information for parent of children who are new to Nursery and Reception in September 2021
Welcome to St Andrews C of E Primary School Eccles.
This page has been created to provide the parents of children joining us in September 2021 with all the information they could possibly need.
St Andrews is a faith school and promotes the Christian values of love, honesty, forgiveness and respect through everything that we do.
Our Early Years Foundation Stage is split into two classes, Nursery and Reception. We pride ourselves on a child centered approach where children learn through play using their interests. This means that we tailor our lessons and provision according to your child's own unique needs. During your child's time in our Early Years our staff will support them to become independent, active learners and to build strong relationships with others around them.
We have friendly, experienced staff who are excellent at building strong relationships with children and helping them to feel safe and settled quickly.
Once we have our confirmed list of children who have been offered a place in our Nursery and Reception classes we will wait for you to accept you child's place online. Once you've accepted their place then can then start to prepare to meet your children and get everything ready for them. We would like to get to know your children really well, the better we know them the quicker we will be able to build relationships with them and meet their needs within our school. We will do this by ringing parents, childminders and nurseries to introduce ourselves and we will ask some questions to get to know your child's needs and interests.
We also usually like to meet your children by visiting them in their Nursery setting, carrying out a home visit and by inviting you to attend stay n play sessions in school. We must meet all of the Governments guidance however, so we will inform you if these meetings are or are not at all possible this year. If they are not we will explore other options for meeting your children.
Key dates to remember:
Applications for Nursery and Reception the deadline is this Friday 15th January
If your child has a place in our Nursery, you still need to apply for a Reception place. They are not automatically entitled to a Reception place. Applications are still necessary. Late applications are treated as less of a priority than those submitted on time so it is essential that all families who need a Nursery or Reception place complete the online application before Friday.
Here is a link to the online application page - https://www.salford.gov.uk/applyforschool
As a reminder, please could all parents accept their Nursery or Reception places as soon as possible to guarantee and secure your child's class place. Parents also need to return the appropriate documentation to admissions as soon as possible by emailing email@example.com and providing them with your child's birth certificate, a council tax bill and a utility bill from within the past 3 months. Please make sure that you take a high quality photograph of these documents when emailing admissions to speed up the process and deter delay.
