Information for parent of children who are joining us in September
Welcome to St Andrews C of E Primary School Eccles.
St Andrews is a faith school and promotes the Christian values of love, honesty, forgiveness and respect through everything that we do.
Our Early Years Foundation Stage is split into two classes, Nursery and Reception. We pride ourselves on a child centered approach where children learn through play using their interests. This means that we tailor our lessons and provision according to your child's own unique needs, interests and motivators. During your child's time in our Early Years our staff will support them to become independent, active learners and to build strong relationships with others around them.
We have friendly, experienced staff who are excellent at building strong relationships with children and helping them to feel safe and settled quickly.
If you have successfully applied for our school and been offered a place here at St Andrews, you now need to accept the your son or daughter's place to confirm it. Once you have done this, school can then start to prepare to meet your children and get everything ready for them.
After you have accepted your child's school place, you will receive a Welcome Letter which invites you to attend a Teacher meeting at St Andrews, here you will have the opportunity to sign up for Stay and Play sessions and to come with your child to play with us during the day.
We want to get to know your children really well. We will do this by ringing parents and Nursery settings to introduce ourselves and by arranging previous setting visits so that we can speak to your child's key worker. We will also contact our new families to arrange home visits, here you will have an opportunity to ask any additional questions you may have about school.
Key things to remember:
- If your child currently has a place in our Nursery class, you still need to apply for a Reception place. They are not automatically entitled to a Reception place and applications are necessary. Late applications are treated as less of a priority and it is essential that all families complete the online application before the January deadline. Here is a link to the online application page - https://www.salford.gov.uk/applyforschool
- Accept your child's Nursery or Reception place as soon as possible to guarantee it.
- Parents need to bring the following documentation to school as soon as possible for us to photocopy. We need to see; your child's birth certificate, an up-to-date council tax bill for and a utility bill from within the past 3 months as proof of your current address.
If you have any questions regarding your child's start in Early Years you can contact the school on 01617894853 or email us at standrews.ceprimaryschool@salford.gov.uk
We look forward to meeting you all soon,
Kind regards,
Mrs Starkie
