Peer Mentors and Mediators
Children in Year 6 may apply to become Peer Mentors. This means that they are willing to carry out a variety of jobs which help the smooth running of lunchtimes. These jobs range from helping in the Dining Hall, to organising games for other children to play in the playground. Peer Mentors are given full training for their role, and are expected to show commitment and responsibility. Some Peer Mentors progress to be trained at Peer Mediators whose role is to mediate in issues in the playground and involve adult help where necessary. They also support children who are experiencing difficulties in the playground.
